another busy weekend...

I am truly under the opinion that craziness keeps my life together! Without it, I wouldn't know what to do half the time. We had another busy weekend, but I am very blessed that we have friends and family to spend our time with.

This weekend we celebrated the 50th anniversary of some very dear friends. I've only been with Kyle for 5 years, and we've only been married for 2 1/2 so I don't have a lot of experience in this area yet, but they amaze me. They still love each other very much and obviously are meant to be! Happy Anniversary Bob & Weezie! I can only hope to make it 50 years with Kyle!

I went to a nursing conference on Saturday that was awesome! I always learn so much! They even had a patient with a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) come in and talk to us. It's basically an artificial heart so that this guy can live outside the hospital while he waits for his transplant. He can do almost anything while on it and it will last him up to 7 years! I have never actually seen one and it was amazing to learn about. I also got my update on the current treatments for diabetes, which was simply fascinating! The last breakout session I went to was about wound care and I learned a ton there too! I know I'm such a health geek, but I don't care because it makes me a better nurse. I am an eternal student and love learning about the new developments in health care!

Kyle's brother and sister-in-law were in also town this weekend, so we were able to spend time with them. We haven't seen Steve and Nicole since Christmas. They came down to buy a used Tahoe (because they're family may be growing in the next few years!) It was good to see them!

Today is being dedicated to a huge paper for school. It will be nearly 20 pages when I'm done and I can't wait to be done. I'm getting very excited to start putting my committee together for my Master's project. I even think I'll be able to talk one of my old professors, who is a mentor to me now, into heading up my committee!!!!

The week ahead is full of things to do (as always!) I’ll try to keep everyone updated!
