autorama, march 1-4

Autorama...what can I say about Autorama? It's an incredibly busy weekend, but it's really fun too!

Thursday - Setup: it's chaotic at best. The theme of our display was 29 Below since all of us are under 29 and then we incorporated a winter theme as well.

First show for the '33 since we've had it painted and put back together!

Friday - Rockwell's Revival II (pin-up contest). See my other post

Saturday & Sunday - Pin-striper's auction and car show

Posing with the '33 after the pin-up contest

My Favorite Panel From the Pin-Striper's Auction!
The people running the pin-striper's auction asked me to be their "Vanna"

I'm in the middle in the black & white polka dots...didn't get too many pics of my cute outfit that day :( which is too bad, cause it's one of my favs

To recap Autorama:

0. (Yes, step 0 because it's late and I didn't want to re-number...) Plan your display for months; gather items for your display as you can (Christmas clearance for our display this year!); have dinner with friends a week before to finalize display (get crafty!); pack the cars (in our case, finish putting the car together, then pack it), and pre-clean the cars (even though we all know they will get filthy on the drive down because it's March in Utah so snow is likely).

1. Work half a day Thursday. Drive down in the snow Thursday, only to run like the dickens to set everything up and clean the (now) messy cars.

2. Work all day Friday and get gussied up for the pin-up contest. Then rush to make it down to the pin-up contest in time because it takes time for us gals to look gorgeous

3.Spend all day Saturday at the show, and all day Sunday as well (we're talking 10am~ish to 10 pm~ish).

4. Sit through 2 loooong hours of awards Sunday evening; but this year it was worth it! With the Mustang and my bike, we got our traditional "pity plaques" (it's like little league; everybody in competition wins a trophy of some kind). However, with the '33, we won 2nd in class (altered street coupe) and 1st in the rising star category (25 years and younger)!

5. Then after awards, you rush to clean everything up, shove it back in the cars, wonder how you hauled it all down in the first place, load the bikes, kindly help other people load up so they aren't stuck there all night either and then head for home.

6. Wish you had taken Monday off work.... :/

Right now, we're wondering why we do this every year; but come next January, we'll probably be signed up again!
