What a great Fourth of July weekend! Friday night we went to the Plain City car show. I love these small car shows that are associated with city celebrations! The Plain City show is always awesome because they always have great food! For 5 bucks each, we got a grilled chicken sandwich, beans, fried potatoes with bacon, chips, a soda, and an ice cream bar! What a great deal and the food was awesome! We parked with Tracy & Royce and Mat brought his new (to him) 1979 MG Midget out to it's first car show!
Saturday we went down to Granstville for their City Days/Fourth of July celebration. We set the cars up and then went to watch the parade. I got horribly sun-burned on my legs (I knew I forgot to put sunscreen somewhere!)

I really liked this car show because it's like a fair so the food is fried and plentiful! Kyle & I shared a potato chip (they spiral cut a whole potato in a long chain and then deep fry it), a scone with honey butter, and a funnel cake. Oh the fatty, fried goodness of fair food. I'm glad I brought some carrots in our cooler to try and even things out! We took the dogs with us so they could have an outing at least one day this weekend and we wore them out.
After the show we met Tracy, Royce, AJ, & Mat to go see fireworks. We went to the Freeport Center where Kyle's work is so we could hopefully see 2 shows! We actually caught 3 because some bushes at a nearby church caught fire! Luckily no structures were burned, but it was kind of scary. A good reminder to be very careful with fireworks. We were able to see West Point and Clearfield's fireworks! We sat in the bed of Royce's truck with blankets and chairs and had a great view of the show.

Some cool pictures cause my camera didn't get any great fireworks pics
Sunday we went to Idaho Falls for a birthday party for Kyle's grandma. We went to see his Grandma "E" first at her assisted living facility. After visiting with her, we went to the party for his Grandma "O". Most of his dad's family was able to make it so we had fun as usual. It was nice because Steve & Nicole came down to Utah for the weekend and then came up to Idaho Falls with us. It's always great when we get to see them!

Monday we went and ordered a patio door. In our house, the only way to get to the backyard is through the garage and then out the back door. I know the house was built as a starter house so the door was probably left out to cut costs, but I'm ready for a change. There is a window in our kitchen/dining room that is 5 feet wide and just over 5 feet tall. I have wanted to replace the window with a door since we moved in 2 years ago and now we finally can. It's silly, but I don't like having to take the dogs through the garage to get outside (there's too much in the garage they can get into, plus it's a hassle). This is one of those 'grown-up' moments I never thought I'd have when i was little but I'm super excited to get a back door in our house!!!! I'm sure I'll be blogging about the demolition and the rebuild in the coming weeks!
Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July weekend! And thank you to all of the men and women who make it possible to celebrate our Independence Day!
It's always great seeing you guys as well!! You got some pretty neat pictures at Grandma O's.
