Sunday we went for a long drive. We made this trip last year, and I'm kinda hoping it becomes an annual thing for us (if my propensity for car sickness doesn't get in the way.) We start out by going to Bear Lake to my grandparent's graves. My uncle, Danny, is also buried there too. I love the cemetery at Bear Lake because it's so peaceful and serene. All of the graves have an amazing view of Bear Lake and it's beautiful. I clipped the grass & weeds around the graves, brushed them off and then wiped them clean with a damp rag (just like grandma showed us when Caitie and I would help her do graves for Memorial Day.) But she'd be so dang mad because there are a lot of dandelions growing around her headstone and she hated weeds.

Next we headed to Jackson Hole so we could stop in and have lunch and walk around the shops for a bit. I remember vacationing in Jackson Hole when I was little and it was tons of fun.
After lunch, we headed to Idaho Falls to visit Kyle's grandfather's graves. Kyle's grandparents are grandma & grandpa E (for HansEn) and grandma & grandpa O (for HansOn). It's a pretty good system since they both have the same last name. On our way through the pass after Jackson Hole, I got very car sick (I took some Dramamine which took away the nausea, but made me very loopy). Kyle tried to make more stops to help me feel better and so we stopped at the Teton dam. It's actually what's left of the Teton dam since it broke in 1976 (interesting side note: the car that Kyle's mom & dad are building was covered in that flood!)

It was a very long day with lots of driving, but it's a good day to remember our grandparents and put flowers on their graves. I would like to keep making this trip, but probably exclude Jackson Hole next time to shorten the drive.
Monday was a day of working around the house and on the car. It's nice to have that "extra" day every once in a while!
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day like we did! I'd like to thank the men and women who have served and are currently serving. They make it possible to celebrate great Holiday's like this!
That sounds like you guys had a fun weekend (besides the car sickness). Those pictures look great!
