busy car show weekend

I'm late updating, but want to recap anyhow. Last weekend (June 4, 5, & 6) was a big car show weekend for us. Friday night was the 25th Street Car Show on Historic 25th Street in Ogden. This show is always a blast. They close down 25th street from Wall Avenue to Washington Boulevard and cars & bikes line the streets. It's just a fun show with great shops to look at and great places to eat. Our favorite is Karen's Cafe and their 'crummy chicken'. It's delicious!

Look how busy it was!

There were a ton of shows to go to on Saturday but we spent the day working on the '33 so we could get it out to the picnic on Sunday. Then we went down to Salt Lake to celebrate Caitie's birthday. I love seeing my family and I'm very excited because my parent's are looking at possibly building a house in Farmington which means they would only be about 15-20 minutes away!!!! I really love spending time with them and would love to have them closer!

Sunday was the Mountain West Street News (MWSN) picnic. Our good friends Bob & Weezie put on the show. They've know Kyle's parents since before he (or Steve) was born and have adopted us right into the cruising world. This was a particularly fun year because Kyle decided to somewhat "debut" the '33 at this show. He worked very hard to get the motor and chassis ready to come out to the show. Royce was awesome and helped us load it on his trailer Saturday night and then came over Sunday morning to tow it to the show.

They always have some fun games at the picnic including a mens' legs competition and a trivia contest/poker walk. Kyle and I fizzled out on each of our poker hands, but we both got 18/20 on our trivia. We tied with one other person for the highest score. Luckily, Royce & Tracy prepared for such an event with a tie-breaker scavenger hunt! We each had 2 minutes to find 10 items (a spare tire, a 2008 dash plaque, a smiley face-not drawn!, a bungee cord, a picnic basket, a chair, a camera, sunglasses, a raffle ticket and a pair of fuzzy dice. It was hard because Kyle and Steve could each use their own cars so I was on my own. AJ saved me with his spare tire, Marc gave me a raffle ticket, Mike G. handed me a smiley face sticker, Janice handed me a picnic basket, JC lent me a bungee cord, Pat Bearde let me borrow her chair, Tracy let me use her camera, and I had my sunglasses. I had tons of help and thank them all! I still lost because Steve had all 10 items (including a spare-tire which was his belly!)
