car show kick-off

This weekend marked the first car show weekend in Utah (with the exception of Auto Rama). Saturday was Elmer's in Clearfield and Sunday was the Breakout Breakfast in Ogden.

Elmer's was great! I didn't come until later in the day because I worked on homework, but I still had a blast. I brought Zoey and Bruno out so they could re-unite with all their car-show friends (people and dogs alike.) They had free hot dogs, chips and drinks and I got to chat with a lot of great friends. The NSRA team even got 12 safety inspections done! If I remember correctly, that puts us at 15 already this year and we are only into April! (by the way, I can't wait to go to the NSRA show in Bakersfield next week with Kyle!)

Our family out at the show:

Afterward we went to Lucky China for lunch/dinner with AJ, Tracy, Royce, and Mat. I think almost all of us had the schezwan chicken (but it's so delicious!)Then Kyle and Mat changed the shocks and brakes on the rear-end of my cobalt (thanks Mat and Kyle!) After my car was back together, Kyle & I went into Ogden to see JC, Janice and all the cruisers (Todd, Sheri, Mike, Arlene, Steve, and Bill) that were spending the night for the breakout breakfast in the morning. It was so great to relax and hang out with them. We always have a blast and spend the whole night laughing (and eating)! What more could we ask for?

The breakout breakfast moved to Union Station this year because the Home Town Buffet in Layton, where it's been for years, closed last year. I'm glad they were able to find a new spot to have it! We paid for our breakfast which was a really good buffet (they had tons of different muffins and pound cakes to choose from, so it was heaven for me.) They also had yummy fresh fruit. Our admission fee not only gave us breakfast, but it included entrance into the three museums at the Union Station. I had a blast because I haven't been through the museums since I was little. The Union Pacific train museum was the most interesting to me, but the Browning and Classic Car museums were cool too. The only downside to the day was the wind! It was a blustery day!

At the breakout breakfast:

After the breakfast was over, we went to AJ's new house for his cruiser's housewarming party! What a blast! A good time is guaranteed when the cruiser's come together for any occasion. Congrats again AJ on your new house!
