it's the most wonderful time...

I love the Holidays! I love the cheer, the joy, the giving spirit! I finally set up our Christmas tree and put up our decorations on Friday night. I'm so happy because in our first few years together we decorated our tree with "generic" ornaments because we were just getting started and had very few ornaments of our own. This is our fourth Christmas as husband and wife and we have enough of our own ornaments to decorate our tree without generic fillers! Some of the ornaments are from places we've traveled to. Many are car themed (go figure!), and I have a good share of Disney ornaments on there (again, go figure!). I love how the tree comes together and shows "us" so well. Kyle's love of cars, my love of Disney and our travels together. I love the memories of our short time together when I hang each ornament on the tree.

Saturday was a busy, busy day. We woke up and started the day pretty early (for me, and for a Saturday). Kyle took me to the frontrunner station so I could catch the frontrunner train to Salt Lake and then the trax train to the stop by my parent's house. Caitie picked me up and we went to a Scentsy party that a friend of ours was hosting. I had fun. I'd never actually been to one even though I own a Scentsy (I received mine as a wedding gift). I had a nice time and was glad to see so many of my cruiser friends there.

Caitie and I headed for Layton for our car club's Christmas party. Tracy and Royce planned the event (although I do believe most of the credit goes to Tracy). It was at Tracy's work, University of Phoenix, and it was fantastic. They had Rovali's cater it (so it was delicious!) We played a gift exchange game and I ended up with some cute Christmas decorations!

We headed to Hayrides after that. It was so warm that night (we had over 500 paying riders that night!) Best of all, I got to see my favorite little Maddy! (Best quote of the night was from a little boy as we entered the tunnel of lights on the hayride: "ooh, we're going into a haunted house!")

Sunday we went to the cruisers breakfast in Salt Lake. I love the cruiser breakfasts because we get to see some dear friends that we miss during the winter months. Because we were so far south, we decided to go to the University Mall.

Reason #148 why I love Kyle: he enables (and embraces) my Disney habit. The University Mall is one of the few malls in Utah (if any) that have a Disney Store!!!! So off to Orem we went. After our journey, we discovered that the University Mall is closed on Sundays. I know it's Utah, and I know it's Utah County, but I was genuinely surprised. I thought that the mall would at least be open on Sundays during the Holiday season! So we headed back home, and Kyle didn't say a thing about our wasted trip to further my Disney habit. I love that man of mine!

Sunday evening brought us to Mat's house for his Festivus/Christmas party. We were supposed to wear ugly sweaters to complete the theme, but I think Mat was the only one who did (although no one would have been able to compete with Mat's ugly sweater.) It was a great night and it reminded me of the reasons I love the Holidays! Good food, friends, family and fun!

I truly am blessed and it really is the most wonderful time of the year!
